Five (5) Grand Prizes: In addition to the Semi-Finalist Prize listed below, each Grand Prize Winner will receive 1) the opportunity to work with The Pulitzer Center in the development of an international reporting project (the “Reporting Project”); 2) a $10,000 USD travel grant to be administered by Pulitzer in connection with the Reporting Project; and 3) transportation and lodging for a 2-day/2-night trip for the Grand Prize Winner to Washington, DC on or about May 9-11, 2010 to attend a screening of the winning Entries (“Screening”) as well as a workshop organized by Pulitzer (“Workshop”) intended to provide guidance on the Reporting Projects. Trip includes round-trip coach-class air transportation from a major commercial airport closest to winners’ residences and a major commercial airport near the Workshop destination (airports to be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion), 2-nights’ standard hotel accommodations (single occupancy), attendance at the Workshop, and $300 USD spending money. Trip must be completed on date specified by Pulitzer. If the Screening and/or the Workshop is canceled, rescheduled, delayed, or if a Grand Prize Winner cannot travel to Washington, DC during the time period specified by Pulitzer, Pulitzer shall have no further obligation to the Grand Prize Winner other than to supply the trip to Washington, DC as described within one (1) year from date of prize notification without providing attendance to any future Pulitzer Center workshop or event. All other expenses relating to acceptance of Grand Prize not explicitly stated herein, including but not limited to taxes, meals, beverages, alcoholic beverages and gratuities, are the responsibility of Grand Prize Winner. Travel must be completed on dates specified by Pulitzer or Grand Prize travel package will be forfeited. Specifics of Grand Prize travel package are subject to availability and Sponsor’s sole discretion. Complete terms and conditions of Grand Prize trip will be furnished with prize notification. Travel arrangements must be made through Sponsor’s agent on a carrier of Sponsor’s choice no later than twenty-one (21) days in advance. Reservations are subject to availability. Travel restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Grand Prize Winner is responsible for obtaining all required travel documents. If Grand Prize Winner resides within a 100 mile radius of Washington, DC, ground transportation may be provided for the Grand Prize Winner in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided for difference in prize value. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each trip: $2,000 USD. Total ARV of all Grand Prizes is $60,000 USD.
Semi-Finalist Prizes: Each of the ten (10) Semi-Finalists will receive a Sony® Camcorder model HDR-FX1000 (ARV: $3,199.99 USD each) and a Sony® VAIO laptop computer model VPCF117FX/B (ARV: $1,499.99 USD each) ARV of all Semi-Finalist Prizes is $46,999.80 USD.
Community Award Prize: One (1) Community Award Prize: Sony® VAIO laptop computer model VPCF117FX/B (ARV: $1,499.99 USD).
